Clayworks Studio and Gallery in Charlotte, North Carolina is my pottery home. www.clayworksinc.org It is there that I first learned to center clay on my potter's wheel, there that I found my community of potters. I am now a studio artist at Clayworks and take part in two sales events there each year - the Holiday Open House and Sale and the Spring Sale. Check the Clayworks website for these sales dates.
Through the years I have been inspired and instructed by workshops with Ben Owen III, Gay Smith, Suze Lindsay, Kent McLaughlin, Liz Zlot Summerfield, Silvie Granatelli and Bill VanGilder. I have participated in an Arrowmont week with Kristen Kieffer. A high point of pottery inspiration was meeting Warren MacKenzie and watching him throw pots in his studio.
I am an active member of the Carolina Claymatters Pottery Guild, having served two years as treaurer and now serving as programs chair. The guild presents it Carolina Pottery Festival each spring and fall -- always the second Saturday of May and the second Saturday of October. You will always find Piggy Bank Pottery at these festivals ! Visit www.carolinaclaymatters.org for specifics about these events.
You may see some of my pottery at the Carolina Claymatters Pottery exhibit on Concourse E of the Charlotte Douglas Airport.
Contact me to learn other events where Piggy Bank Pottery will be available. Or I am happy to make special arrangements to show you my pottery at a mutually agreeable time.
